Will I lose my car and house if I list them?

No. We will discuss with you what you wish to retain to help you achieve the goals you want.

How do I protect my house and my car?

Though you have to list all your assets and liabilities, we wouldn't recommend something against your goals of keeping your house and saving your car from repossession. We will tell you if you can't keep them. Then you can decide if you want include these in your filing. You will also decide if you want to file.

Can I get rid of my student loans?

In most cases, these are not dischargeable.

Can I get rid of tax debt?

Some taxes are not dischargeable. It depends on how long you've had the tax debt and what the basis is for the outstanding taxes. If you have a have a small business, we can also assist you in how to proceed with tax debt through Chapter 13.

Can I discharge my taxes?

In some cases, you may be able to, but this depends on your specific circumstances. If you didn't file the taxes on time, for example, you can't get rid of them.

In Chapter 13, there are lots of foreclosures. Can you stop foreclosure?

In many cases, the answer is yes, but you need to be able to pay the ongoing mortgage payment. We may be able to help you set up a payment plan for the money you owe in back payments, like a car payment, for example. In many cases, we can hold up foreclosure to give you a chance to sell the house.

What about hospital and medical bills?

Hospital and medical bills can create overwhelming debt, but these may be discharged through Chapter 7 bankruptcy in many cases.
